Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo believes that the points system in the pinnacle of motorsport should be changed. By doing so, di Montezemolo follows in the footsteps of Bernie Ecclestone who wants to introduce a medal system.

di Montezemolo believes that a race winner should be rewarded better in points. This season Felipe Massa won 6 races while champion Lewis Hamilton only won 5.

The Ferrari president said to the Italian newspaper 'La Stampa': "I believe the points system should really change. Massa won six races, while Hamilton won five but the Briton clinched the title."
