McLaren acknowledge Massa's efforts

The McLaren Formula One team has acknowledged Felipe Massa's inspiring 2008 campaign for the Drivers Championship at the teams season finale meeting at their factory in Woking, England. As the Brazilian ended up a mere one point behind Lewis Hamilton in the final standings.

"Felipe Massa drove brilliantly to win the Brazilian Grand Prix. I'd like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to the quality of his driving throughout the season and the impressively sportsmanlike way he handled the disappointment of finding out at the last minute that he hadn't won the drivers' world championship," said McLaren F1 CEO Martin Whitmarsh.

This adds to what both Ferrari and Mclaren said earlier in the season, that there is no bad blood between the two, and the rivalry is a friendly one disputed only on track.
