If the Grand Prix Manufacturers' Association (GPMA) do split from Formula One to form their own series from 2008, Paul Stoddart at this point still Team Principal of the Minardi Team, plans to run his own team in the new championship.

Paul Stoddart "I can't see Max Mosley backing down and equally I can't see the manufacturers backing down, so I suppose the net result of that is that there will be most likely two series in 2008, and hopefully that will provide an opportunity for me to come back. If there is two championships, I would love to come back in"

At Spa-Francorchamps, a couple of weeks ago, Stoddart sold Minardi to Red Bull. This weeks Chinese Grand Prix will be the last Sunday he will be Team Principal in Formula One.
