Mercedes branding on customer cars would be too opportunistic says Haug

As of the start of the season Mercedes is supplying two other teams besides the McLaren F1 team, but only has their branding on the MP4-24's. Adding their branding to the Force India and Brawn teams would be taking advantage of the unusual circumstances under which they landed the deals with them says Mercedes motorsport boss Norbert Haug.

"That could be the wrong signal and look opportunistic," said Haug.

The Brawn GP was only able to use Mercedes engines after special permission from the FIA and the rest of the Formula One teams, since engine suppliers are only allowed to supply powertrains to two race teams.
