I won't let Ferrari leave - Ecclestone

In contrast to Max Mosley, Bernie Ecclestone is willing to persuade the Scuderia Ferrari from defecting from the pinnacle of motorsports, should it ever come to that. The FIA president recently said that it would be sad for the Italian team to leave the sport, but nothing more.

"I won't let it happen," Ecclestone said to 'The Times' newspaper, in reference to the possibility of Ferrari leaving Formula One.

"The trouble with Luca [di Montezemolo] is that you shouldn't let Max ever be in a position where he can start a debate or an argument. He's reasonably clever and you won't win," he added.

"Even if you do win, it's like you being in the audience and me being there with the microphone. You say something smart and I don't give you the microphone — it's as easy as that."
