Schumi on two wheels

Just before his holiday, Michael Schumacher enjoyed the Ferrari Day and did some racing on two wheels. The annual Ferrari World Finals was the last event for Rubens Barrichello alongside Michael Schumacher. It was a demonstration run in two F2005 cars.

Michael Schumacher "Nice days in Italy, even though I have to say the Ferrari Daywas a little different than the years before. But even without much reason to celebrate this day is always the perfect opportunity to send a big thank-you over to those who support us so strongly. We are one big family and like to show that. So it's always nice to take this opportunity to come together, and make sure all our helpers receive the attention they deserve.
All of us have had to deal with lots of setbacks this year, and all I can say is: I felt yesterday that this has led to all the lads being especially motivated for 2006. We can only have one goal where we are at today: to overcome this slump and start fighting for the title once again. That's my view, and the whole team agrees. I can't promise that we'll be able to make it, but I can promise we'll try everything within our power. In the evening I flew to Padua, we celebrated the end of the season with the Nazionale Piloti - a nice soccer match for a good cause, which we won. But that was secondary, the big dinner we enjoyed together afterwards was much more important…
Today I got to experience something that I had been looking forward to for a long time - riding a Moto-GP bike. This time not slowly like I usually do, but on a Ducati racing bike. I had been really keen to experience that for a long time, and I must say it was really worth it. It was lots of fun, even though it took some getting used to in the beginning. But the Ducati boys were a big help for me, Randy Mamola explained a lot to me and so the day was a great experience. Thank you to everyone who made it possible!“
