Pizzonia wants to leave Williams

As reported earlier this month, Nico Rosberg has signed a contract with the Williams F1 Team. Rumours are spread that the young German will team up with Mark Webber in 2006. Antonio Pizzonia has informed Williams that he will be leaving the team at the end of the year.

Pizzonia hoped for a race seat in 2006, after he took the race seat of the injured Nick Heidfeld for 5 races. After Jenson Button's buy-out from his Williams contract, it was alleged Rosberg and Pizzonia would compete in a shoot-out during winter testing that would determine who would partner Mark Webber. But even before testing began, Nico Rosberg was contracted by the Williams Team.

According to the Brazilian media, Antonio Pizzonia already told Sir Frank Williams that he's leaving and is instead looking for a full-time drive in the United States-based Champ Car series.
