Toyota and EMC have today announced the renewal of their multi-year partnership contract, which consolidates EMC's position as a technical partner of Toyota's Formula 1 team, Panasonic Toyota Racing. EMC has been providing Toyota for 2 years with information equipment at their base in Cologne.

As the team heads to the championship-deciding season finale at the Suzuka Circuit this weekend for its home Grand Prix, President of Toyota Motorsport GmbH, John Howett said of the announcement: "We are very pleased to extend the already fruitful partnership with EMC. Since they first joined our Formula 1 effort back in 2001, EMC has provided us with an invaluable information technology infrastructure at our team base in Cologne. Their support has been instrumental in the continuous development of our F1 car and on-track activities and we are looking forward to develop our close working relationship even further."

Takashi Nakayama, President and Representative Director of EMC Japan commented: "EMC is very happy to be able to continue its cooperation with the Panasonic Toyota Racing team as a technical partner. We hope that by securely managing the huge volumes of data generated in the various scenes of design, development, testing and racing, EMC's storage production will provide the team with assistance in maintaining the strength to endure continuous days of testing and improvement. Furthermore, we are looking forward to even greater leaps forward by Panasonic Toyota Racing in the future."
