Problems for Heidfeld

Today, the BMW Sauber F1 Team continued their four-day test programme in Barcelona, Spain. Nick Heidfeld and Jacques Villeneuve completed a total of 116 laps at the 4.627 kilometre Circuit de Catalunya.

Six drivers were on duty at the Spanish test track, with tempretaures reaching 13 degrees Celsius. Jacques fastes of 91 laps at the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.06 was clocked at 1:17:615 minutes. Nick achieved a personal best time of 1:18:405 in the interim Sauber C24B. Due to gear selection problems the Germans progress was hampered, and he could only cover 25 laps. Together both drivers covered a mileage of 536 kilometres.

The German-Canadian duo conducted several simulated race starts. Over the course of the day, Jacques focussed on set-up work with the new car and several long runs. Tomorrow, Nick will return to the wheel of the BMW Sauber F1.06. Robert Kubica is scheduled to celebrate his debut for the BMW Sauber F1 Team in the C24B.
