Webber once more ahead in FP3

Mark Webber was again fastest in the wet, this time on the intermediates. He went quicker than Lewis Hamilton who attempted to improve the Red Bull driver but lost a few tenths in the busstop chicane. Toro Rosso driver Jaime Alguersuari set the 3rd fastest time.

Rain fell again at the very beginning of the session, causing the practice to be completely disrupted. Many drivers completed an installation lap to at least check the car, but after that it took about 30 minutes before a car came on track again.

Both Red Bulls and Sebastian Buemi were the first to give it a go, quickly followed by many other cars. Times are around 2:15 but start to fall as the track is slowly drying.

Sebastian Vettel initially didn't make a great impression and never came on top of the timesheets. His teammate Mark Webber who just signed his 2012 contract made a much better impression in the wet conditions.

10 minutes later it is clear the Toro Rossos are both performing well. After a number of laps on the intermediate, they are both on top of the timesheets, with Alguersuari in front with a 2:09.948. Bruno Senna meanwhile went off track but could recover thanks to the tarmac run-off.

With 10 minutes left, Nico Rosberg then has a right front slow puncture, scrapping one of his intermediate sets of tyres.

When Webber goes back to the track, his second quick lap finally improves Alguersuari's time. The Australian posts a 2:08.988. Vettel cannot touch that time and ends up in 4th place, behind Alguersuari and Button. Lewis Hamilton has the 5th fastest time, ahead of Buemi, Rosberg, Sutil and Senna.

Interestingly, Fernando Alonso did not complete an entire lap and was out of the car quickly.
