Villeneuve welcome in Le Mans

While the F1 future of Jacques Villeneuve is far from certain, fans and colleagues are speculating about the future of the Canadian. Although his manager spoke about testing roles for teams like McLaren, nothing ha been confirmed. Since everybody knows his Le Mans interest, one of Jacques’ former rivals and friend, Stephane Ortelli, has mentioned to the Canadian press that he would be more than willing to have his former F3 rival join him for next year’s Le mans.

"I think that Formula One is not good for Jacques any more," Ortelli told the National Post. "He is more than welcome in our kind of racing. I know he loves Le Mans and he would love to do it one day, so why not be teammates again in Le Mans? When I started to drive my first long-distance race, I had to make compromises with teammates. I had to share things. I am much more excited when I can share success with people that I really like to work with than just doing it on my own."

As yet, there has been no word from Villeneuve on his future plans and his legion of fans continue to hold out hope that the 1997 F1 champion will reveal all very soon.
