Juan Manuel Fangio exhumed for DNA examinations

The body of the Argentine F1 legend Juan Manuel Fangio was exhumed in a bid to carry out DNA examinations after two paternity cases were bought by two men.

Fangio, who dominated the 1950s and won five world championships, did not declare any children.

However, Fangio is reported to have had a two-decade relationship with a woman. Her son claims that Fangio was his father.

Another man, Ruben Vazquez also claims that he is the son of Fangio.

Vazquez alleged that he only wants to be acknowledged as a descendent of the former champion: "I just want to be recognised for the Fangio surname," as BBC reported.

A judge in Argentina ordered that Fangio's body had to be exhumed in order to take DNA samples.

Fangio, nicknamed 'El Chueco' or 'El Maestro' is still the most successful F1 driver behind Michael Schumacher. He earned success with four different teams: He won titles for Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Maserati and Mercedes-Benz.
