Ocon is " very happy with our weekend" at the Mexico City Grand Prix

Having completed a double points finish for Haas at last Sunday's Mexico City Grand Prix, Esteban Ocon admitted that he "didn’t get all the luck on his side," but he was delighted with the American team's success.

On the back of his strong performance in qualifying, Ollie Bearman started ninth, but he jumped to sixth after a strong start.

When Max Verstappen banged wheels with Lewis Hamilton, the Haas driver then made a brilliant, opportunistic move on the Dutchman to climb to fourth. He was expected to struggle with tyre degradation against the top drivers, but he managed to hold the Dutchman at bay and inherited third when Hamilton served his penalty.

Although he looked on for a stunning podium, Bearman made a second pit stop which allowed Verstappen to take over the last podium spot. Bearman still managed to hold Piastri behind in the closing stages to finish the Mexico City Grand Prix in fourth place, claiming his his career-best finish.

His team-mate Esteban Ocon made it two cars in the points by coming home ninth, after managing to keep out of all the first lap chaos.

Reflecting on his race in Mexico, Ocon said: “It’s been a very solid race, and we’re very happy with our weekend overall. We didn’t get all the luck on our side, in terms of being in the wrong place at the wrong time in both quali and the race with the same car.

"Well done to Ollie and well done to the entire team, we’re moving one place up in the Constructors’ Championship with a whole lot of points and we should be pleased with that.”
