Four-time F1 world champion Max Verstappen explains why he is enthusiastic for Red Bull's RB22's new look, claiming that "blue is my favourite colour."

Red Bull Racing has officially launched its 2026 Formula 1 livery during a high profile event in Detroit, marking the beginning of a new era for the reigning champions as the sport transitions into its radically revised regulations. The updated design introduces refreshed colours, new detailing, and a glossy finish intended to stand out under the lights of the global calendar.

Four time world champion Max Verstappen expressed clear enthusiasm for the team’s new look, emphasising both the aesthetic changes and the excitement surrounding the upcoming season.

“First of all, everyone is very excited. The colours have changed a little bit. It is much better. I like the shine, blue is my favourite colour. I like the outlines on the Red Bull logo. It is back and much more fresh,” Verstappen said as he assessed the updated livery.

The Dutch driver also acknowledged the challenges that lie ahead as Formula 1 enters a new technical era. “It is all still a bit unknown with the engine and the dimension of the car has changed a bit.

"For us drivers, initially it will take a bit of time to adjust and important on test days to get our laps in and optimise as much as possible,” he explained.

Reflecting on the dramatic conclusion to the 2025 season, he added: “It is always better to have an ending like that and everybody is excited to start a new chapter.”

Hadjar: “It is a bit unreal for me”

Isack Hadjar, who steps up to the senior Red Bull team for the first time in 2026, described the moment as the fulfilment of a lifelong ambition. “It is a bit unreal for me. I have always dreamed of driving for this team. As a kid watching TV, I saw Vettel winning all those titles. I am finally in the big team,” the 21 year old said.

Hadjar emphasised the significance of joining the sport’s most dominant outfit of the modern era and partnering Verstappen. “It is a real privilege to be part of Oracle Red Bull Racing and be next to Max,” he stated.

The French driver also praised the visual impact of the new car, particularly under night race conditions. “I love the front wing and gloss as during night races it will stand out,” he said.

Hadjar added that he already feels comfortable within the team environment and is eager to begin the season. “I am fully adapted and in the rhythm. A maiden race win would be good.”
