Oracle Red Bull Racing unveils RB22 ahead of Barcelona shakedown

Red Bull Racing has officially presented the RB22, its challenger for the 2026 FIA Formula One World Championship, offering an exclusive first look before the car turns its first laps today at Circuit de Barcelona‑Catalunya.
The reveal marks the beginning of a new era for the reigning champions, as the RB22 becomes the first Red Bull chassis to run the all‑new Red Bull Ford Powertrains DM01 power unit.
The car appears in a refreshed gloss‑finish livery, maintaining the team’s iconic visual identity while introducing subtle refinements for the new technical cycle. The RB22 was photographed at the Red Bull Technology Campus by Vladimir Rys, with rights‑free imagery and beauty‑shot video content now available via the Red Bull Content Pool.
First track outing for the RB22Max Verstappen and newly promoted teammate Isack Hadjar will share driving duties during the Barcelona shakedown, giving the RB22 its initial systems checks and baseline performance evaluation. Both drivers will also debut their 2026 helmet designs and Sparco race suits, which accompany the team’s updated branding for the season.
The shakedown represents the first time the RB22 will run with the DM01 power unit — a milestone moment for Red Bull Ford Powertrains as it enters Formula One as a full works supplier.

While full aerodynamic details remain closely guarded ahead of pre‑season testing, Red Bull has released a core set of technical specifications outlining the RB22’s fundamental architecture.
The DM01 hybrid power unit represents the first complete engine package developed under the Red Bull Ford partnership, aligning with the 2026 regulations that place greater emphasis on electrical power and sustainable fuels. The RB22’s transmission, designed and manufactured in‑house by Red Bull Technology, continues the team’s philosophy of tightly integrated chassis‑power unit packaging.
The braking system features carbon‑carbon composite discs paired with Brembo callipers, while the car rides on 18‑inch OZ wheels, consistent with the sport’s current wheel regulations.
The RB22’s debut marks a significant milestone for Red Bull as it transitions into a full works power unit era. With Verstappen leading the team into another title campaign and Hadjar stepping into his first full Formula One season, the Barcelona shakedown offers the first glimpse of how the team’s 2026 project is taking shape.
