F1 BUSINESS: What is behind Formula One's new partnership with Flexjet?

By on

Formula 1 has announced a new multi-year partnership with private aviation company Flexjet, which becomes the sport's Official Private Aviation Supplier ahead of this weekend's British Grand Prix.

The agreement brings together two globally recognised brands built around precision, performance and operational excellence, with Flexjet set to support the travel requirements of Formula 1's key executives and championship personnel throughout the season.

With the championship spanning 24 races across 21 countries, efficient travel is essential to the operation of the world's premier motorsport series. Through the partnership, Flexjet will provide flexible private aviation services using its fleet of more than 340 modern aircraft, including one of the industry's largest collections of large-cabin business jets.

Supporting Formula 1's global operations

As Formula 1 continues to expand its worldwide footprint, the new partnership is designed to help ensure the seamless movement of personnel between Grands Prix while maintaining the high standards expected of the championship.

In return, Flexjet will gain exposure through Formula 1's global audience of more than 830 million fans, while also offering select guests exclusive behind-the-scenes experiences at Grand Prix weekends as part of its premium Red Label® programme.

The companies will also collaborate on a dedicated digital content series exploring the parallels between motorsport and aviation, highlighting the engineering expertise, innovation and pursuit of performance that define both industries.

The partnership also supports Formula 1's broader sustainability ambitions. Flights operated as part of the agreement will utilise Sustainable Aviation Fuel certificates (SAFc), helping reduce emissions associated with business travel and contributing to Formula 1's goal of achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2030.

"Flexjet is a perfect fit"

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali welcomed the new partnership, highlighting the similarities between the two organisations.

"Every day of the year, Formula 1 is on the move, connecting with our fans, promoters and stakeholders, and working together to deliver something truly incredible.

"Having strong partners by our side is central to our success as we continue to grow and create unforgettable moments for hundreds of millions of fans around the globe.

"Flexjet is a perfect fit for us as our new Official Supplier given the shared passion for precision, innovation and totally unique experiences," Domenicali concluded.

Flexjet sees a natural partnership

Flexjet Chairman Kenn Ricci believes the collaboration reflects the shared values of both industries.

"This is a natural alignment of two worlds in which both luxury aircraft and fast cars require absolute precision and flawless coordination to achieve success.

"As we look to the future alongside our partners at LVMH, cementing our longstanding ties with the world of motor racing allows us to deliver unparalleled, ultra-luxury experiences, both on the ground and in the air."
