Asmer testing a Williams

The BMW Williams F1 team gave the 18-year old Estonian racer Marko Asmer his first F1 test.The youngster concentrated on aero mapping, working under a speed limitation. Marko completed 98 laps collating valuable aero data for the team.“ Together with Marc Gene, who completed 100 laps this has been the kickoff of an intensive testing week at Barcelona.

Marko Asmer is currently racing in British Formula Ford for Richard Dean's Team JLR. He was previously a factory driver with the Tony Kart Team. This is his first year racing cars but thanks to the fact that he is being managed by Harald Huysman, who helped develop the career of Jenson Button, he has already tested for Williams at the Vairano center in Italy, doing straightline aerodynamic runs and getting himself into the feel of running an F1 car.
