Spyker F1 Team drivers Christijan Albers and Adrian Sutil were today given a crash course in Australian Rules Football, courtesy of the Hawthorn Football Club at Waverley Park. The drivers donned personalised Hawks gurnseys and joined a team warm up session, before learning the basics of the game from the Hawks players.

Albers and Sutil then featured as guest speakers at the official Grand Prix Variety luncheon at the Crown Palladium. They were joined by V8 Supercar drivers James Courtney, Mark Skaife and John Bowe.

Just down the road at Southbank, Toyota test driver Franck Montagny was put through his paces as he went head to with Carlton AFL player Brendan Fevola. The pair completed a series of physical tests comparing the fitness of F1 drivers to AFL players. While Fevola proved more powerful in the strength department, Montagny took top honours in endurance, with a higher maximum aerobic capacity.

Tomorrow some of the F1 drivers will participate in the Pitstop Tennis Pro-Am for charity.
