Singapore gears up for F1

Before heading to Kuala Lumpur for this weekend’s second round of the world championship, Mark Webber stopped off in Singapore and fuelled speculation about the city state hosting a Grand Prix some time in the future.

Mark got behind the wheel of a Renault convertible and drove around the proposed route of the street circuit. Good fun for the locals, but a bit worrying for the organisers of this Sunday’s Malaysian event, as the two venues would look to pull in crowds from a similar area. Of course, our Aussie Action Man couldn’t just settle for a bit of Rest and Relaxation after that, choosing instead to go Mountain Biking with the ANZA (Australian-New Zealand) Cycling organisation. Then, on arrival at his hotel near the Sepang track he even joined in a football game in the grounds of the hotel, which with humidity running at over 40% and the temperature soaring to the high 30s provides a really stern fitness test. Hey Mark, ever thought of taking it easy for a while?
