We have exceeded expectations - Heidfeld

Two podium finishes, points scored in eleven consecutive Grands Prix and third position in the Constructors' Championship - with a clear lead over the fourth-placed team: the BMW Sauber F1 Team has contested the first eleven rounds of the 2007 Formula One season in successful style.

For Nick Heidfeld, there is no doubt: "We have exceeded expectations," says the German. "I was sure we would make a step up in the team's second season.
We finished fifth in the constructors' standings last year - 50 points off fourth place. However, there was no way I would have expected us to be the third-best team by this point in the season."

In total, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica have scored a total of 71 points for the BMW Sauber F1 Team, to date this season. That's more than twice as many points as Renault, currently fourth in the Constructor's Championship - and 35 more than the BMW Sauber F1 Team scored over the course of the entire 2006 season.

"In some races we have been even better than this," adds Nick regarding some of the biggest success celebrated this season so far. "When I finished second in Canada I didn't benefit from any retirements, it was purely on merit."
