The team opened a three day test session at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza today under hot and humid conditions. The Italian track provided the stage for the team's preparations ahead of the Monza race in two week's time on Sunday 9th September.

Kazuki Nakajima was on driving duties for the team and covered the highest number of lap of the day (98 ). Setting a personal best lap time of 1:25.052, Kazuki's time was the fifth quickest.

Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager, Williams F1: "At a very hot and humid Monza circuit, Kazuki opened our three day's in Italy with evaluation work on the Monza aero package. We ran through day one's planned test programme with no problems at all. In fact, it's probably been one of the smoothest and efficient sessions we've had so far this year, with Kazuki completing the most number of laps of the session. Alex will be driving tomorrow so we will spend this evening setting the car up for him."
