The Hinwill windtunnel that is operated by Sauber Petronas will be out of action for about a week, starting yesterday afternoon. During testing there was an electrical shortcut in one of the transformers, which caused some smoke. However, the official team statement confirms there was no fire nor damage to the building, and testing in the windtunnel wil be restarted as soon as the repairs are completed.

"The truth is that there was a short circuit in one of the transformers this afternoon. Fire alarms were triggered because of smoke development." following the Sauber official press release.

"However, there was no fire, which means there was no damage to the building. Repair work on the transformer is expected to take about one week, and the work in the wind tunnel will resume upon completion of the repairs."

The state-of-the-art facility was officially opened at the end of 2003 and is the most modern currently at any F1 team's disposal.
