Minardi loses title sponsor Wilux

Team Minardi has today announced that its partnership with Wilux has ended as of this moment. Wilux, a sanitary manufacturer had been a sponsor for several years, and was this year title and main sponsor of the Italian team.

The team and Wilux could not agree over a problem at the British grand prix, where Minardi decided to run without the usual livery in memory of Sporting Director John Walton, who died a few hours earlier of an heart attack.

Although Wilux agreed to pay tribute to Mr. Walton, there has grown a misunderstanding which eventually leads to the end of the partnership. Minardi released the following statement:

“Due to irreconcilable differences concerning, among other things, the decision by Minardi to run without sponsorship livery in the 2004 British Grand Prix and the decision by Wilux not to adhere to contractual payments, sadly, the sponsorship agreement between Wilux and Minardi has been terminated today. The Team wishes Wilux every success in the future.”
