De la Rosa elected as Chairman of the GPDA

McLaren Mercedes test and reserve driver, Pedro de la Rosa, has been elected Chairman of the Grand Prix Drivers Association. The GPDA met today in Melbourne and elected de la Rosa to replace Ralf Schumacher.

He told news agency 'Reuters': "The guys supported me so I am happy to get the job."

De la Rosa aims to recruit youngsters as members of the GPDA like Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen. "We all have to be part of it because we are working on safety and safety is for everyone."
