BMW Williams happy with Pizzonia

Antonio Pizzonia took the place of injured Nick Heidfeld last GP at Monza and this weekend he will take the wheel of Heidfelds car again. Williams is happy with the result of Pizzonia last weekend. Pizzonia started 16th on the grid and finished 7th.

The team believes that they have made progress with the FW27 chassis in recent races, but early qualifying slots didn't help them at Monza. Webber qualified 14th and Pizzonia 16th.

Frank Williams "We showed improving pace in Monza, continuing the trend in Hungary and Turkey. But yet again the team was unable to convert useful speed into a good race result."

According to Williams, the reasons are to be found in qualifying, when Pizzonia and Webber had to start first and second.

"The main problem was qualifying first and second, which produced relatively poor grid positions and put Mark in the thick of the problems at the first corner. Antonio did an excellent job at short notice."
