Renault F1 Team invites one of its fans to the Hungarian GP

In the constant effort to bring the public closer to the pinnacle of motor sport, the ING Renault F1 Team recently organised a competition for one of its fans to win a paddock pass for the upcoming Hungarian Grand Prix.

Having had an official blog since 2006, the team places great emphasis on interacting with the fans and has more recently started a fan site completely dedicated to the team's supporters and fans of Formula 1. In building on this, the ING Renault F1 Team recently launched a special competition to allow one lucky fan the chance to win a dream weekend with the team.

The game involved imagining and drawing the administrator of the team's fan site, known simply by the pseudonym of ‘RF1 Paddock Pass', with whom the members of the community have been interacting over the last three seasons. Close to a hundred designs were posted on the team's website with around 10,000 votes being cast in total by fellow fans. A prize draw to determine the winner then took place for the 10 finalists whose creations had received the most votes.

After several weeks of competition, it was eventually a young 21-year-old French woman who won the prize. She will be invited to this year's Hungarian Grand Prix and will become part of the team for the entire weekend. Everything will be taken care of by the team with her paddock pass allowing her to follow the action from the garage and meet key members of the team. She will then share this experience with other fans by writing a journal with photos which will be uploaded to the team's fan site.
