Force India VJM09 Mercedes

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter does not belong here.

Can someone please remind me who was the guy from Red Bull that brought new aero philosophy to Force India (front wing, more rake etc .)

Dr Guru Johl
Finishing races is important, but racing is more important.

An interesting shot, especially of the steering wheel, the frontage is rapid prototype'd.

This piece is actually 3d Printed. It's a front cover.

You say it is but how are you actually sure it is 3D printed? Surely you can't just look at it and tell?

I would have thought they made a piece that colour because it contrasts better with the buttons and knobs on the steering wheel making everything easier to read

I really wouldn't trust Ted Kravitz on many technical things. This being one of them, aerodynamics being another main thing (the things I've heard him say had me shaking my head in disbelief). Yes his show is entertaining and has good information through interviews and is a good summary for the events it is not where I get any technical information from.
