A possible explanation for all the potential (and some questionable) recently registered new names for Force India:

'Cybersquatters' have been registering domains and names that the team might want to use, either to block the change, or to make some money selling the rights to Force India!!

do you actually read other posts in this forum? has been mentioned already.

So wasn't there going to be a big reveal for the new name? Is it still Force India? If so, good.

Shame no manufacturers are sniffing around. Now they are established top half team would be good for a manufacturer even if it was just a title sponsor.

Yeah agreed. I have a feeling they are 1-2 years away from bottom half finishing. So now it a very good time to sell up or have someone invest. Renault and Mclaren will almost definitely be faster than them in 2019. Maybe even 2018 if those 2 teams get their act together fast this year

Based on what info are you saying this? If it's mere speculation this comment is immaterial. Also something for all the folks who want SFi to be picked up by a manufacturer. What if Liberty media implements budget cap from 2020? What'll happen to all the teams that you mentioned and the big teams like Ferrari and Mercedes? What if, what if!?

For a start, the first line "I have a feeling" is a dead give away as to whether its speculation or not.

As for liberty crew implement a budget cap in 2020, it would push Renault Mclaren Red Bull Merc Ferrari to spend even more this year and next year to gain any extra advantage they could, knowing they would make the money back in the budget cap era you suggest. Spend it while they could would be the way to go. Force India cant compete with the Mclaren and Renault teams. They dont have the finances to do so. Renault and Mclaren are coming strong this year and next.
How about a wager on it ? Renault and Mclaren to finish ahead of Force India in 2019.

Mclr & Renault has to deliver in 2018; they don’t have any more excuses. If they can’t do it in 2018; no way they can in 2019.

Renault have invested big in the last 12-18months, they will begin to see that on the track this year. Mclaren switching to a Renault engine should throw them up near red bull by the end of the year. Force India can only go backwards, surely people can see that ?

I don't quite fathom how they can prepare for 2020 and beyond in 2019 with areas tied to regulations unless they have Jean Todt's almanac! With the engine and gearbox, if the Mercedes engine still has the upper hand, then there shouldn't be any concern in that area. The comfort of having an endless kitty was they could experiment and take risks in all areas, but once a budget cap is implemented, they don't have the comfort and don't have to know how to work in such a restricted budget.

Force India is a savant in that respect, so I'll take your wager (don't really care about 2019) and add to it that if there's a budget cap, expect Force India to beat Renault and Mclaren handsomely, see me in about 3 years time.

You never know what happens, also remember Force India (Or Force F1 team for now) is slowly gaining a lot of sponsors, they actually have a higher budget each season but they don't spend all of their Budget. They only spent 90 million in 2017(Well according to Motorsport.com) but their overall money they had for 2017 was much higher(Compare it to their 2015 and 2016 Budget).

Any rumours on launch date yet?
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️
