So they finished 7th last year giving them 320 hrs, which is 100%. As of july 1st, they be 11th giving the 115% wind tunnel time or 48 more hours for a total of 368hrs.FW17 wrote: ↑11 Jun 2026, 16:34They need not bring anything, just keep testing.
they get 5-6 runs of wind tunnel a day and 33 item on cfd a day. Both are vastly under used. 5 to 6 runs a day (20 min a run) would be about 12 hrs of testing a week. This in comparison to 2015 when wind tunnel testing time was restricted (by more than half of 2014 season) was 25 hrs a week.
Aston if they want to breach, can do a lot in the wind tunnel.
Gear box, suspension, all seems to need work, and money allocation can go a long way
They could also onboard staff from other teams with some generous signing bonuses
Also remember most of the car was built in 2025, using 2025 budget. So worst case scenario, these are just funds that you'd normally allocate to the 2027 car. They're just bringing them forward and pooling them with what they normally would have allocated in upgrades from the beginning of the year till they release the B-SPEC. Sure there will be enough left over to do plenty more upgrades. Since the aero regs are the same next year, you can easily shutdown production in November or something like that. Keep designing and unleash Production on Jan 1 2027 to make new parts for the 2027 car.
