In his interview on F1technical, Newey said that Mike Krack is excellent at representing the team. Which I read as, him saying that he's not in any rush to find a replacement. He also noted—I'm paraphrasing—that while the FIA requires every team to have someone designated as "team principal," the role itself isn't formally defined. Regardless of how you interpret the title, the buck stops with me. So AMR F1 are looking for a face that wouldn't have any power. So why in the world would you go spend all that money on Horner just to tie his hands and why would Horner accept such a job?
yes thats correct. i was talking about the opposite end of that top wishbone that everyone was saying was a radical design during preseason. one end connects to the rear crash structure, the other connects by the wheel hub assembly. just thought that regardless of whether the inboard mount was at the crash structure or the gearbox casing, theyre both solid compaired with the rear wheel mounting side. if that makes sense.. regardless, the current mounting has been done before in prior newey cars, with no vibration issues that we know of. and sure, "vibrations are complicated". but people seeing that "radical" suspension arm, and deciding that its the cause of their vibration issues, is pretty amateur to begin with, with no evidence to speak of. i know its just speculation. speculate is all we can do without anybody from the team giving up information.
Great news. Knowing both about the performance increase and when it will arrive... If they figure out how to operate with this fuel, I think it won't take them long to close the gap and then becoming best or one of them.Petebass wrote: ↑02 Jul 2026, 12:45New motor for Zandvoort.

Q: OK, now let’s talk about the upgrade. Adrian Newey spoke earlier this week about what’s coming in Hungary. Does it feel for you that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel? What are you expecting in terms of performance when it arrives?
LS: We’ll find out. We’ll find out in Hungary. We have the aero in Hungary and then engine in Zandvoort. So, we’ll know more then. Hopefully we get more in the mix.
Q: Have you put any of it through the simulator yet?
LS: Yeah, it’s supposed to go a lot faster. How much faster is always difficult to estimate before it hits the track. I just hope we take a good step forward and it gives us some opportunity to fight every weekend and score some points, if it’s good, or if it’s great, better than that.
Lance sounds positive after long time.Hope it's a good step forward.FNTC wrote: ↑03 Jul 2026, 15:21Lance Stroll also said upgraded car at Hungary and engine at Zandvoort in the press conference yesterday, same as the news reports.

No worries. The Fuel pump is connected to the Fuel line, the fuel line is connected to the fuel cell and AMR F1 put the fuel in the fuel Cell. Nothing for Honda to figure out there. As long as they can get power to the fuel pump we're good.etusch wrote: ↑03 Jul 2026, 09:08Great news. Knowing both about the performance increase and when it will arrive... IMHO they seemed to be more tentative when describing their upgrades in the past. You don't find huge gains in lubrication. Their wording has switches to bolder terms. "Big Jump" sounds more sure of themselves. While before it was more of "well I don't know, we have a lot of testing to do, you know the reliability has to be there" sounded like they were preparing to make excuses. It might have just gotten lost in translation though ....
