Does anyone know if McLaren Lit-up the glass 'McLaren' sign on the roundabout outside MTC this week?

Its something they used to do when they won a GP... but obviously this hasn't happened in the last 9 years (and I no longer pass by that way anymore)

It would be great to see a photo of that... I want to know if its still Rocket Red, or if its now Papaya Orange

Bottas had a crack at the fastest lap too. Daniel beat them both easily.
Bottas was so slow that his fastest lap was 1 100th slower but was done with 19 more laps of fuel on board. He finished the race around a second behind Perez. That is not conducive for fastest lap pace. He was still hoping for a mistake by Perez, no sure why...he was already ahead of him by virtue of the penalty.

:D :D

The Mercs clearly had the race pace over and above everyone. Bottas' new engine would have helped on the straights. But still, their car was the King, but Penalties, poor Qualy/Sprint and a poor pitstop cost them. If any one of those things had gone better they would probably have won, or in the case of the pitstop, had a chance at going for the win.

But it's not luck that we put ourselves in the position to win the race, before I get the hardcore brigade telling me there was nothing lucky about our win.

I know you're not like that and am thankful for analytical opinion. For the less analytical, let's be happy with our team but let's not get delirious and make shiit up!

The “easily” part of my comment was in reference to the fact that Daniel got off the gas as he came up to the finish line and was still faster than both.

Nice piece on Ricciardo, the man of the moment. With all the talk about pace and Lando getting close, here’s an interesting bit.

Ricciardo says: "There was one lap in particular, not long after the restart (following the crash between Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton) when I let him get too close and I probably gave him the impression I was maybe not that fast. And I think that's when he probably said 'I want to try and attack Daniel'.

"I could see in my mirrors, Turn Two into Curva Grande and into the next chicane, he was probably even closer than I let Max get at the start of the race.

"I was like, 'OK, I don't need to be saving (tyres) this much, so then I kind of turned it up a little bit. With the restarts and the craziness of the racing these days, I was always trying to save a little bit, just in case there was another restart. Could I have won by 20 seconds? I'm not saying I could have, no, but I was just doing what I had to."

Ricciardo just said hes feeling more comfortable but still feels there is more to find and that some tracks will suit him and others not so much. Looks like hes still trying to figure it all out. But with every lap hes going to gain more and more confidence. Cant wait till the next triple header.

Hopefully hes doing a bit more sim work in this little break so he can get on top of it even more.

I have a feeling Dan might slip back behind Norris in Russia. Ric was faster than Lando this weekend which was nice to see👍🏻
