Happy New Year all! May it be a year of multiple papaya wins and being outside contenders for the title, at least.
Speaking of, lots of buzz around multiple teams' 2022 cars esp. Ferrari but also including Merc, RBR, Aston Martin even Alpine but very very quiet on the McLaren speculation side. Silence is good news or bad news? Let the speculation begin!

We cant expect miracles from old wind tunnel especially with the rule change. I am a bit afraid that they might slip back a bit.
If i would get the money to start my own F1 team, i would revive Arrows

I mean a couple weeks back they were throwing around only being half a second a lap slower than the current cars, tyre and weight corrected
So they might end up in a decent spot if they truly are at that level already.

I'm not buying that, some TPs were saying before preseason tests 2021 cars had more downforce than 2020 and they'll be barely slower, if at all, but that's not how it turned out in the end. 2020 was just on a different level.

Weight will be the big killer of laptime next year, even if downforce will be similar (unlikely in first year imo).

Thank you for that. Do you have information on how long the team has been working on the new chassis, did the 2021 season interfere with its development?

Without the pizza slices out of the floor and managed engine modes, they probably would have been (like for like)

As I said, weight and tyre corrected (they're expecting the new tyres and wheels and associated weight to cost over a second a lap alone, btw)

Do you have any news regarding morale in the factory. Is the team somewhat worried by the relatively upbeat spirits of Ferrari and Alpine for the new regulations?

Anyone I've talked to is just as happy and excited to see what happens with the new car as they were this season tbfh.

There are rumors going around which link McLaren with Audi for 2026. This means there's a chance McLaren will be a works team on 2026.

Not sure how I feel about McLaren-Audi, but to be honest, if it helps wins titles I wouldn't mind.
