2022 car comparison thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

If that’s the colour for this year, it’ll look almost black on TV.

Similar to the previous post but a bit more detail. the Ferarri colour is not the focus.

is it just me, or do the cars so far look less alike each other than the 2021 cars were?

So far there has been a range of designs. Which is good to see.

I'm looking forward to seeing some photos with flow viz being used. Going to interesting to see where the air is actually going on these various designs.

Man, I really hate the look of the new wheels with the covers on all these 2022 cars. I thought I was going to love the 18" wheels, but they look like cheap stock steel rims you find on police cars.

There is possibly a way to do it more aesthetically pleasingly but oh well, it is what it is. There are the ol' Super Touring OZ Racing aero disc wheels, which I thought were cool, so aero disc wheels could in theory look cool:

:?:

I agree that the wheel covers are ugly by the way, but also that the aero objectives are more important than looks.

It the leaked SF-75 pic is correct, sense like they have taken a middle route between AMR (gills, suspension) and McLaren (squared off sidepods with no undercut)

I am not some tech guy but does anyone else feel that the Aston front end is going to leave them dead last? How is that front wing so high?
