Red Bull RB18 Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

The suspension is very interesting. Does the top arm look like a single element?
to me it looks like the rear element actually connects to the chassis a the bottom instead of the top of the nose, in line with the pull rod

Pull-rod front suspension and only one upper arm?? Am I seeing right??

The nose seems to have a hole like last years nose! Don't know if it's just distortion though...

Looks quite innovative compared to the others!

It looks about as innovative as the others from what I can see.

I only see one, but it does like one of those AI pic cleaners, as even the other half of the bottom wishbone is almost a ghost.

I'd argue that most of all of the cars look pretty innovative this year. 8)

McLaren is also the only one with a pullrod front suspension. James Key, ex RB. :)
Wasn't he ex-Torro Roso? Peter Prod the Aero Head is ex-RB

I think from this angle the rearward arm is in line behind the forward one

It seems very unlikely to me that you could make a suspension with only one upper arm that wouldn't collapse under braking. Probably the rear element of the upper suspension arm is hiding behind the front one in this picture, which would give it some pretty extreme anti-dive geometry.

Yes, you can see the attachment to the chassis.

McLarend's former Deputy Head of Aerodynamics (Concept) joined Red Bull last year in May.

What the...

Look at the nose, look at the suspension arms, look at the radiator openings!

Wow, now I understand why they were hiding so much...
I'm not sure what you're see that looks special about the nose or sidepod inlets?

There's absolutely nothing below those sidepod inlets!
Seems a really huge undercut!
