Seems like the little pods before the rear wheels were indeed just flow measuring devices, since they're gone now (open on new tab to view full-res image):

On the Silverstone pictures it has been visible that a cable from the pitot tubes was running to this pod.
It was simply a device to connect the sensors up and possibly housing an antenna to transfer the data.

Do we have any idea where is W13 stacked in terms of wheelbase? Definitely looks shorter than some of the other cars.

All cars have the same wheelbase by regulation of 3600mm

Yes, you are right. It's the max wheelbase. Teams can go shorter. But since the max is already shorter then previous year and Teams have been trying to go max with length, I would doubt anyone will go shorter than that.

Nah, 3.6m is the maximum ceiling.

F1 had posted a side comparison between Ferrari and Mercedes. Although a very crude comparison on that picture Ferrari and Mercedes look to be quite similar in overall car length, but Mercedes has a longer wheelbase

I saw some comparison pics, and they certainly looked different, and Mercedes didnt look the longest either.

Obviously it's just the maximum allowed wheelbase... I think the poster is assuming that maximizing the wheelbase is now a "no-brainer" with the venturi tunnels, and since these cars' predecessors were longer themselves anyway.... But from my eyeball-measurements, the Aston and Ferrari indeed seem to be shorter than the others, not sure about this Mercedes... Anyhow, it's definitely going to be an interesting subject for this year (what kind of compromises teams are making between aero, weight distribution and yaw inertia).

Do we think we’ll see something like RB’s “bargeboard” on the Mercedes? Seems quite a development part for them to miss
