I think they both need quick medical attention!

I know heart rates go up during racing but averaging 180bpm seems really high to me.

Drivers regularly reach high stress levels for their bodies. Here's a paper by Eric S. Watkins, O.B.E., M.D., D.Sc., F.R.C.S. on this subject.

It mentions that 200 bpm heart rate does occur.
Racing should be decided on the track, not the court room.
