formula pro (need analysis of a fantasy f1 car).

Post

Hello everyone,
I got a (weird) request for all of you aerodynamicist.
So there is a fantasy car in a simulator named rfactor 2, its called as formula pro. The developers of that sim have stated that this fantasy f1 car's design is based on CFD...so its shape has function to it.
I'm going to post a IMG, i was looking for a explanation on one of its element. like what "job'' it may be doing etc.

So im looking for a good estimation on what are those tooth like shape on rear edge of floor is doing, it is near the rear wheel (its part of floor itself).

sorry i couldn't figure out a way to upload my edited IMG to point out the part i'm talking about. <mod edit, your links are image links now>

Also , if you would like to point out something else please feel free to comment about it. I love the design of this car...would love to hear more about it from you guys.

Vortex-skirt to seal the floor?

Maybe not much response as it is not permissible within the real regulations.

Hi, thank you for replying.
yes the idea of vortex skirt for sealing did came to my mind as well, also since its near rear wheel wake this cuts seems to block that too.

Also pardon me for asking, what regulations you mean ? i thought i can discuss anything regarding aerodynamic here.

edit : "Please stick to F1 on this forum." I see my mistake now.

could you move my post to appropriate section then ? or is it okay to post this topic again on different section ? (please do let me know which section should i repost this then, i don't want to make same mistake again :D ).

Done, located here in Engineering projects.

The regulations that I was referring to were the FIA formula one regulations.
