Williams FW44

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

so have they completely abandoned the hole behind the sidepod inlet concept?
It hasnt seen a single race after pre season testing.
It looks like it doesn't it. I wonder if there was a query to the FIA and because it wasn't primarily designed for cooling (that was the reason for bringing the louvers back correct?) they outlawed it?

Bodywork around the stay looks a little rough too doesn't it?

How is Albon dragging this piece of garbage truck to 2 point scoring race is unfathomable. About a second away from the back of midfield. Race pace equally as bad. They need to take Aston Martin route 😤.
They been working on it for months

The slot gaps in the new rear wing seem strange, why would the radial edge gaps not be consistent with the flat gap?

Any keen eyed folks can tell anything from the red flow vis??? Is there any problem with the rear wing or diffuser aero?

Now that the Merc seem to work, maybe Williams should also try the zero sidepod concept and have the side impact structure outside the sidepod. The 2 Haas with zero upgrade in Q3 shows how lacking this car is. Zero downforce.

This car would need monocoque changes to copy the Mercedes.

The FW44 sporting some flow-vis again on Friday.
Not what you want to see 7 races into the season without any major upgrades and with no new parts brought to this track. Hopefully not a sign of them still being at a loss with understanding their car.

They did bring some new parts for Spain, diffirent rear brake duck winglets I think, and they are probably just monitoring how those parts interect with the lower DF rear wing.

I'm surprised they haven't flat out copied the RedBull concept at this point. It's not like they have anything to lose.

It will be interesting to see with what they come up at Silverstone. With the amount of time they've had to develop the upgrade I hope they don't dissapoint us. [-o<

In Baku the FW44 was one of the cars that had the least porpoising. I don't know if it was because they were running it quite high or what.
