I did not realise how old he is. He still looks like a teenager. Is it worth while a company taking him through the run up ?
He would be 30 before there was any return on the investment.
When arguing with a fool, be sure the other person is not doing the same thing.

Piastri over Nyck all day. Heck even Schumacher over him. He isnt even worth the time.
Speaking of Latifi, his race radio from Maimi is interesting, clearly struggling with car. Albon on the other hand seem to be on top and barely complained.

Still not convinced about deVries,
His F2 Champ is an interesting one , the only person that he fought who ended up in F1 is latifi and we can all see how that is going, the f2 Grid just wasn’t that stacked in 2020

His F2 career was certainly not stellar, but also not bad. In 2019 he seems to have been on par with rookies Norris and Albon.

You probably mean 2018, in 2019 Russell, Norris and Albon were already in F1.

Interestingly FP1 times of de Vries can be compared with Latifi, so let's see.

Williams barely updated their car so far. According to Dave Robson they're ending an evaluation on whether it's better to add upgrades to their current car concept or pursue a new direction.

You got a source for this?
Shocking if that were true & since that's a lot of smart people possibly throwing the towel in pretty early in the season on something the spent a year + working on.

Here's the quote from Dave Robson - I don't see it as throwing out their current concept - just making sure they can do within all regs, cost caps challenges.

DR: That's a good question. I mean, it's a little bit variable depending on which track we’re at – but certainly it has it has a few through-corner balanced characteristics that we'd rather it didn't have. But partly what we've been doing during the season is trying to understand how much of that is down to choices we've made, and we could genuinely have made different choices – and therefore there is scope to improve it reasonably easily, and how much of that is a feature of the regulation set. When we get such a big change in regulations, you've got to very quickly work out what is undesirable but almost unavoidable, and what we simply could have done better. So, we've been working on that, we've got a pretty good idea, I think, now of what we need to do, what the regulations allow us to do, and we’re now finalising how to do it, or how best to do it most efficiently.

I would question the entire structure and the engineering team at Williams. They can use more wind tunnel time than most teams and they still make a dud that is slower than a Haas with no upgrade.
Monaco will be painful and many other circuits based on barcelona performance.
Kinda fortunate they have points in the bag because they might not get a sniff if the other teams get their act together.

The problem with Williams is that the talented engineers left the team before Dorilton took it over, and now they have many newbabies that are inexperienced.

I haven't followed William's closely but Jost Capito first year was last year. He probably has a long list of people/equipment he has to change/upgrade and it's gonna take years.

Seems Williams are holding fire on updates due to the cost cap. They want the biggest bang for their buck so they are deciding when to manufacture the parts...

I really hope they get it right this time!

Williams considers swapping Latifi for Piastri from Silverstone

https://soymotor.com/noticias/williams- ... one-997472
Nicholas Latifi could contest his last race with Williams this weekend in Canada. The Grove structure has considered replacing him with Oscar Piastri from Silverstone due to his poor performance at the start of the season.
