Mercedes W13

It seems unusual to strip a car down so much between back to back weekends. I wonder if it's a new tub, although I don't think they are allowed to do any changes to it for mass?

Are the cars normally stripped down to this degree to transport between races? Looks like it would be a new tub to be so bare.

The monocoque. You see monocoques everyday?

Interesting shield over the rear part of Mercedes chasis. Could be isolating cover to keep fuel temps under control.

Definitely foam. That's a lot of foam if there is a fire. Probably has fire retardant chemicals in it.

I think Vanja you will have to to adjust your Mercedes chassismodel a bit based on the new evidence we have that the Mercedes chassis is not that draggy, nor remarkably draggy compared to Ferrari or RedBull.

The rear wing flap looks steeper to me, it has more camber in the middle and the outboard ends are flat accross. It looks like a duck, it probably quacks like a duck too. The wing is likely more draggy than the Ferrari and RddBull wings.

Wow I've never seen a tub like that before. It's very strange under the engine.

I'd be surprised if that was holding fuel because they have to get the Kevlar tank in that corner some how. Maybe it's packaging something else like hydraulics or electronics.

Also very interesting holes in both side where there is a cooling duct.I remember Toto saying people will start figuring out how they did their 0 sidepods once they see under the skin.

Oh, nice catch! Looks like indents for radiator intakes, or even actual segment of intakes. Nice detailing!
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I know about the recesses for the rads, but the spike seems new. Why not just cut it shorter like they the did in previous years?

Amazing how much volume they dedicate just to keeping the fuel cool.

So we can safely say the Barcelona wing was a high downforce wing then.
