Will be interesting to watch the MCL36 pace today… I’ve always had a theory that the car likes lower temperatures more than hot tracks and with 20C expected for the race, it will be interesting if that is indeed the case.

The race pace was quiet similar to both Alpine and Mercedes (albeit marginally slower) according to F1’s analysis of Friday practice… It will also be interesting to see if some of the guys in front preferred a Qualy setup instead of a Race setup, with a green track after yesterday’s rain, graining is a very high probability with the softer compounds… Hoping for an interesting race and for both drivers to make up some positions and hopefully finish with double points.

Not sure how much better we can do. It's a dry but all cars are set up for a wet race. Still that drag in straight lines is annoying and must be fixed as fast as possible.

Lando has returned to an older PU after yesterday's issues (from the TeamStream). I don't think it should hinder him too much though 🤞

Was Lando on the bubble to get penalties if he got a new PU?

Straight line speed utterly awful. Desperately need to shed some drag in the next update

Can't see them making any progress without strategy shenanigans to be honest. With that sort of straight line speed they can't overtake anyone.

So we can all agree that the car is fast in High Speed Corners, has fixed that weakness in Slow and Medium Corners and now needs to fix all this Drag from Straight Line speed.

It is strange though. Last year the car was the best in straight line speed and in mixed conditions. What happened this year?

Really bad pit stops there - thrown away the VSC advantage
