RIP budget I guess.
Did they not announce a $4m increase today?

https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433 ... egulations".

An extra 3.1 per cent has been added to previous budget cap after pressure from teams to account for rising inflation costs at an F1 commission meeting

They must surely have budgeted for a few crashes, it’s inevitable that something will happen during a season, either because of driver error or being taken out?

Still an extremely positive weekend so far. Feels like Merc still have the most to find in their package out of all teams going forward, since they are just starting to understand what direction to take. It will only get better from here.

Concentrating on getting speed without bounce now, the 'extras' like stable handling will come session by session

Does anyone know why Lewis aborted his first q3 run, he was on it...
Shame of the crashes but it means the car is starting to 'wake up' :)

Turn 3… on multiple occasions in Q3. It’s a crap corner for Merc, always has been. Sliding like in a rally car.

It really is odd how they have never ever been able to get that corner right.

Not expecting much from the sprint, merc lost their fp2 apparently.
Hoping for a 5-6 finish (or 4-5 if they can keep perez behind) but I think the race will be too short to pass both alpines and mick and magnussen (hami contact possible again :? ...).

I hope they get rid of this stupid sprint races, it's too short to have any value.

Is there any ‘news’ on this hybrid floor that’s rumoured?

I'm not worried about their budget. They have been pretty flawless so far. Other teams have had dozens more crashes and reliability issues. These 2 crashes were probably the first time Merc had to seriously dig into the parts bin.
These 2 drivers have seen the least amount if issues compared to the others on the grid.

As for floor. I don't know when they will bring that. Maybe on a more familiar track?
For Sure!!

Pff, the crashes really cost them, no pace at all during the sprint...

The drag is also very costing in the race when trying to overtake someone...

Did Lewis catch Micks rear wheel out of turn 3? Or any damage from the start? They might be a bit short on wings possibly for tomorrow??

If George gets ever stuck behind a Haas he is probably destined to remain there with his barn door wing

Concept is draggy, barn door is troublesome this weekend granted; but they have a wider problem.

Lewis damaged his suspension when gasly hit him at the start. Toto thinks there is more pace to be had from him tomorrow

George is running a barn door wing which is different to his qualifying wing so that explains why he was so much slower than the leading pack.
