now we have the 4th fastest car on racepace and the 3rd/4th fastest (almost tied with merc) on qualy pace.

Alpine can step up to the top for the next season.
not with a dominant car, but with a 4 teams battle for the championsip.

Alpine can create a 2012 lotus for the next year, and with this car, Fernando can win the championship.
And they're hiring 75 more people to bring the total employees to 950.

With all due respect , Alpine will not be able to produce a race winning car for next few years. Somewhere i feel they dnt have redbull kinda innovative mindset , mercedes kinda talent and pressure to succeed like ferrari. They have been here for fun and be part of show. They lack what it takes "killer instinct" to be there.

It all depends on weather Alpine considers itself in the Merc category or in the Williams category. If they're shooting to compete with "Mercs", then Pilastri belongs on a William's or SAT like team so his skills can be assessed and honed out of the limelight somewhat. Like Russell, Max, Charles, Saintz, Albon, Vettel, Alonzo, Ocon, Perez and Ricciardo did.
That would be ideal but it is not necessarily possible, so Piastri may have to debut for Alpine directly like Norris at McLaren. A direct Alpine debut for Piastri seems a very sensible option -- if Piastri is quick and consistent, which is likely the case, Alpine don't lose anything... They prepare their junior driver and save money compared to expensive veteran drivers. :)

The Norris debut at McLaren (coincidentally also in place of a departing Alonso) went quite well after all, and likely Piastri's debut will also go well for Alpine. It doesn't seem that McLaren would have gained anything by placing Norris at Williams for two or three seasons.
But they do lose out, not much but ultimately they get rid of their best or 2nd best driver and keep the 3rd best because they made him a long term deal. The ideal alpine partnership in terms of raw pace (ofc this is assuming piastri delivers on the hype) is alonso and piastri. Not ocon.

Piastri is an unknown. He has the abilities to be the next Verstappen or the next Vandorne. Only time will tell.

same as default place. I don't think they can challenge for WDC and WCC in decades.

because, They don't have sister team like RB and Ferrar

RB-> RB and AT
Ferrari->Ferrari,AR and HAAS

These two teams dominate the F1 for years until there is a engine change in 2026.

Alonso can win if he was in one of those teams.

The only way to tell is to put Piastri in the car. It would be untenable for the un-retired Alonso (despite driving well) to block the progression of not just one but two young drivers, Piastri AND Sargeant. It would be best for F1 overall for Sargeant to debut in the Williams and Piastri in the Alpine. [Look how well Alonso making a place for Norris went after all! That has been very good for the sport.] :)

A placement of Piastri at Williams, especially a two-year placement based on a two-year Alonso-Alpine contract, is merely shifting the problem of no race seat from Piastri to Sargeant, which is not helpful in the slightest really!

Except that Piastri is likely to be driving the Alpine (F1 car) next season. Piastri-Alpine and Sargeant-Williams is really the only logical solution for these two teams and their promising juniors, not a loan that blocks Sargeant's path. Alonso might, however, be driving for Aston Martin if Vettel retires.

Edit -- Of course Alpine also has a Le Mans team, so Alonso could drive for Alpine there if he would prefer to stay with the French marque rather than return to Toyota Gazoo Racing. Laurent Rossi has apparently made a comment on that topic:
We talked about the fact that Fernando is a legend of the sport, but also a legend of the Renault Group. For us, he’s the champion. He was always going to have a seat in LMDh the day he switches, he will be welcome, it’s his team. So obviously this is part of the discussion.

So Piastri > BWT Alpine F1 Team, Alonso > Alpine Elf Team could be part of the Alpine "El Plan".

Ocon has a contract, he will be driving the car until 2024. It is what it is, that deal is done, it's the other seat which is vacant for 2023.

“Well Fernando, his contract is over this year, so obviously we’re discussing with him,” Rossi said.

“We’re building scenarios for him and Oscar, as I’m sure you would ask me. The idea is that the two of them are worthy drivers, and we would love them to drive next year.”

When asked if both drivers would be racing on the F1 grid next year, Rossi said: “I think so.”

“We’ve invested heavily in Oscar, we believe in him, that’s why he’s our reserve driver. He’s a very promising talent, we would love to fulfil this talent in the team. So a loan, like many other drivers starting in a team to learn the tricks, and then coming back to us would be a good scenario.”

“I think if that [a loan] is best for us, then we would consider that. If we would have another better solution, then we would go for the better solution.”

you have to be kidding.

The better for the sport is not having young drivers. the better for the sport is having THE BEST DRIVERS.

and piastri or sargeant are not at the level of Fernando (and will never be even close).

man. piastri is a noname driver, Alonso is THE GOAT.

It seems you are not liking Alonso in Alpine.

Take an example of new drivers? how may shined?

1. TSUNODA -- one of the best waste in F1
2. Lattif -- follows same as TSUNODA
3. MCS -- Nothing special
4. Albon -- He is surveying but not that much good
5. ZhoU -- same as MCS
6. Stroll -- wasting father's Money in F1

out of 20 total 6 are total waste. They have money and driving for it.

Hence even if we put any new driver from F2, we don't have any guarantee they will do best.

So, don't think about Piastri in Alpine in next two years. If they do, they cannot even reach Q3 with Ocon and Piastri for couple of years.

for Alpine Alonso is the best option currently.

Alonso here with Alpine for improving the team like what he did in Mclaren 2 season.

Michale Schumacher returned at age of 42 to Mercedes and retired in at age of 44. So, Alonso will be in F1 for next 4 years at any cost. i.e. till next rule change.

The Gp2 comment is genuine one. If he did not, Honda won't improve like where they are now. Watch the Prime Video on Mclaren, you came to know how Honda screwed Mclaren.

Honda is not a stable team in F1. They are visitors. They last came in 2009 then they gone. now they came in 2014 now they gone.

Alonso is a talented driver and more straight forward. Hence he is facing lot of critics.
