Norris himself has said the car is difficult to drive and not intuitive. When you are driving flat out, on the edge of adhesion, it can’t be easy to ignore things you’ve learnt in 10 years of driving an f1 car.
And it turns out, Norris had to adapt and its making the best out of it. I'm not sure how that argument makes it any better for Daniel? Do you really want to use the fact that Norris can work with a difficult car as an excuse?

Has any current driver said the new cars are easy to drive?
Mclaren seem to have carried over many of their traits from last year according to Lando:
"Last year, I would say that we had more of that, and then it's not an easy thing to adapt to that, like holding the brake in some sorts of corners that you don't feel like you want to hold the brake in, and then doing the opposite in other corners.

The onus is on you to back up up your claim, I’ve already provided evidence from Lando to confirm my claim.

Evidence?

Lando adapted and Dan didn't. Case closed.

what evidence he hasn't driven another car? what...?

I've already posted articles where Lando himself has also said the car has very different characteristics to last year so does it really matter... I don't understand why this is still a conversation.. its the only thing you guys talk about in this thread

Lando said the car is very different to drive, I'd therefore assume all cars are very different to drive.

He has driven cars in other classes so its not like he’s never driven another race car.

My point is simply that the car is unique. We all know he has been able to adapt, that is not in dispute.

The point is how does this exonerate (in this context) Daniel from being so much slower than Lando?. And this is quite evident as well, their quali time differences are ~0.2% in q1 and these jump to ~0.7% in q2 and then ~0.9% in q3, their avg quali positions are 8.46 (Nor) and 11.62 (Ric), the only one who's worse compared to his teammate is Zhou and he's a rookie. At some point, you must be objective and not just a fan. Also, it's not like his career is finished, maybe Ricciardo can go elsewhere and have a career renaissance like Vettel, but if your complaint is that the MCL36 is not easy to drive then doesn't that just lend credence to why he isn't desirable for McLaren now? - he's slow in their car.

Maybe I'm confused, but you seem to be basing Lando saying the cars are completely different and need a different driving style with saying the car is the same as before?

Isn't every car on the grid unique?. What does uniqueness have to do with capacity of a driver to extract the optimum lap time from a combo of the car's suspension setup, braking, on/off throttle stability in corners and inherent aero characteristics?.

It doesn’t, (and Is not my intent) I’m merely refuting “Daniel has forgotten how to drive” and “the Mclaren isn’t a unique handling car” bs being trotted out by some folk here

No one says Daniel hasn't forgotten how to drive, he hasn't been able to adapt to the current and last mclarens.

I'd dare say, as mentioned, evert car is unique.
