That second last video has been doctored (and it is 2.4 litres not 2.6)
Here is a demo of such sound engineering
And of course nothing but nothing beats the V16 BRM supercharged 1.5l

So not all about V10 then? Noted.

How so? I think it's just distance from the microphone. Car during testing with cameraman far away.

I should have added "IMHO"
Yes it is a subjective thing, but in this case IMHO it is not represenative of the 2014+ cars as it accentuates the two sounds.
The "how so" is in the video I linked re sound engineering

The other video may be more to your liking. You mentioned the BRM H16--it coincidentally produced an exhaust frequency higher than all but the latest and greatest V10s and maybe the tipo 044. Unbeknownst preview of what was to come.

the H16 had paired firing ie sounded like an 8 (eg the US GP winning Lotus-BRM 43)
later some were changed to fire like a 16

Interesting. Presumably the vids I've heard were of the non-paired variety as I remember them sounding more modern. Unless someone just played a 90s F1 car over some BRM images. I do read it had upward of of 11-12k redline which should provide such a sound.

The tipo 044 might hold the record for highest pitch engine ever. Correct? 17k redline providing

If it had an extra decade of development toward 20k RPM it would have reached 2k Hz (B6, double high C).

1965 F1 should have been dominated by flat-16 Coventry Climax engines
(dud power-wise & never raced, so a total build of 3 units, the 32-valve version of their V8, dominated)

Bill Hill's 'V12' Rotovic engine (6 Ariel Arrow 250cc twin-cylinder 2 stroke engines) was in a Lotus 23 in minor races then

I loved that car when it was launched, became much improved with the evo variant (from a performance perspective), but that came after it lost a fight with the ugly stick!
