Porsche and Mercedes-Benz AMG historically are a fierce rivalry but Mercedes-AMG vehicles usually supplying a courtesy vehicles such as Safety Cars, Medical Cars and other course cars due to Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup is a de facto Formula 1 support race tournament.

Panamera? Why not Cayman or 911 Turbo as Safety Cars?

The 911 Turbo doesn't fit that image.

Edit: thinking further, the Panamera could do both the safety car role and the medical car role. The current medical car is just a Merc coupe so the Panamera would be no worse.
