In singapore, qualifying is the only thing that matters.

However, I would be skeptical of a "massively" more powerful floor as there will likely be porpoising. suzuka will be the real test. I hope they don't have a launch spec Mercedes aero map....

Confirmed: Gasly is going to Alpine and Nyck de Vries is going to AlphaTauri in 2023.

not sure why anyone is interested in Giovinazzi.

F1 | Alpine: Giovinazzi opens tests tomorrow at the Hungaroring, Wednesday will be the turn of Nyck de Vries, while Thursday will close Jack Doohan.

Gasly to Alpine is a ‘no-brainer’ for me; disappointed that Nyck de Vries will not be at Williams with Albon next year though, it would be a real step-up for that team.

Agree. In terms of personality and driver, I think de Vries fits Williams perfectly. Good for de Vries and good for Williams!
I am very surprised about this, but the message comes from a very reliable source. I do find it strange that he has already announced it, because I think that it is Alpine's job to announce Gasly and then SAT announcing de Vries.
I wonder when Alpine will announce Gasly.

Don't think Vries would be testing at Alpine if the drivers had signed.

Don't know how SAT can hold back Gasly from having a career with another team if they don't have plans to ever move him up to RBR.

I imagine there is a deal between AT and Alpine for GAS. Part of it is to let DEV have some of the testing KM. GIO is possibly just a known entity and someone who would be good to benchmark against

Interesting take on GIO.

Is Christian trolling Otmar? 🤣

https://apple.news/ApyRZ4TiKTQiUAv0Sfo9SZQ
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has advised Alpine to give their vacant seat for 2023 to Daniel Ricciardo, claiming he would pursue the Australian driver if he was in charge of the Enstone-based team.
PS, I do agree with him.

I heard Horner's comments on the podcast and thought maybe he is laying some ground work for himself.

Calendar has increased since this statement from Checo

Ricciardo seems like honestly RB's best choice of replacement if Checo were to hang up his boots at the end of the year. Not much availability that could/would do the job they want.

That said, Checo extended to end of '23 midway through this season, so I doubt retirement at the end of the year is likely.

On topic of Ricciardo vs any other potential replacement for alpine I think Christian is talking up Daniel for sure. Alpine would surely prefer Mick etc over Ricciardo now, and Horner knows as much

No one knows Daniel better than RedBull. That’s for sure. If they still rate him and Checo wants out, then that would be a perfect solution IMO.
