Did Dan have to lift on his last q1 lap? There were yellows out. Lando got through to Q2 by the skin of a bees dick. Good recovery after that to 6th.

Lando P6....Ricci P17 🤭🤭🤭 Waiting for Ricciardo fans to say that #3 car is with old package and from here the huge difference 😄

no yellow no lift went and rewatched it... nothing out of order

- yeah the team didnt have the timing to get Lando on a new set of inters at the end of q1 so he had to stay on the same set... agonizingly close

You sure about that? He was 2.5 tenths up after s1 on the time he needed to get through and while he was in sector 2 it was showing on screen yellows in s2 and s3 (see attached screenshot) The general consensus is saying he had to lift from various other forums I'm reading.

I went onboard and watched the entire lap... Gasly went straight on... but there were no yellows when he passed through, neither did he lift, he actually got quite lucky or the stewards waited for him to go through then release the yellow flags

Ok then. Confusing with that graphic and not seeing onboard. Cheers.

One has to tip his hat off to Lando Norris… He pulls great laps out of nowhere

Today’s qualifying under mixed conditions is more a testament to the driver than the equipment, how much you dare to push and how much confidence you have in yourself (and of course the car) makes a big difference… For Norris to outqualify Russell who’s Mercedes was capable of pole (as demonstrated by Hamilton in Q3) talks a lot about the driver… Let’s hope next season the car can match a bit better the driver in terms of performance.

Will be interesting to see how much more pace they can get out of the car with a little more understanding of the package and fine tuning it.

Yeah it just doesn’t look comfortable. Clearly there is some speed in the car but it looks ultra lazy on turn in and particularly stiff riding the curbs. Almost gets launched off them

It looked like he was impacted by the yellow flags in sector’s 2 and 3 to me too but he said he just couldn’t get more out of the car on his final lap. 😩

I suspect he lost time to Latifi on his first run on his final tire set as he caught him at a very awkward moment in the lap and had to use him as a chicane.

Although performance isn’t exactly where we all want it… I’m glad the team are really utilising a lot of the remaining weekends and development to aid their 2023 car.

Considering the heavy handicap the team has due to the extremely old Simulator and Wind Tunnel how much aid can it give? Will it give a car that is capable to perform at least like the car in 2021?

Also good result from Lando with what he has this year and I have a feeling that Daniel had to lift at some point during his run.

Daniel is not performing again. He should be able to clear Magnussen who has a damaged car. On another note Lando Norris is much faster than Fernando Alonso. We are still at the start though and the race is still long.
