Not here to compare Lewis vs Max. My post was a counter argument tvetovnsto that claimed Lewis has never had a history or wrecking a rival - which is totally false

Wrecking a rival to me implies it is something deliberate like Schumacher did for example, and that Max now does by his own admission.

Contacts and racing incidents will always happen in racing, no driver is immune to that.

And, comparing Lewis to Max is exactly what’s behind this in reality and you know it. That was the reason for my initial response to the blatant lie that Lewis and Max are just as bad as one another in their combats on track.

As a team we made some mistakes in Brazil. We had not envisaged the situation that unfolded on the last lap and we had not agreed a strategy for such a scenario before the race. Regretfully, Max was only informed at the final corner of the request to give up position without all the necessary information being relayed. This put Max, who has always been an open and fair team player, in a compromising situation with little time to react which was not our intention. Following the race Max spoke openly and honestly, allowing for both drivers to resolve any outstanding issues or concerns. The Team accept Max's reasoning, the conversation was a personal matter which will remain private between the team and no further comment will be made.
The events that followed from a social media point of view are completely unacceptable. The abusive online behaviour towards Max, Checo, the Team and their respective families is shocking and saddening and unfortunately is something that we as a sport are having to address with depressing regularity. There is no place for it in racing or society as a whole and we need to do and be better. At the end of the day this is a sport, we are here to race. Death threats, hate mail, vitriol towards extended family members is deplorable. We value inclusion and want a safe space for everyone to work in and enjoy our sport. The abuse needs to stop.

Is it not time for this thread to be renamed the ORACLE | Max Verstappen Racing F1 Team?

All you have to do is re-watch the race and go onboard with Max the final laps and you know already that this team statement is untrue.

He was informed in turn 6 already of the final lap, and then reminded again at the closing of the lap. He did not say one word to question the request, which he clearly had time to do.

When he crossed the line and was asked ”what was that”, he also said something along the lines of ”I’ve told you the reasons before and I don’t want to hear about this again” or something like that, implying it was discussed before and not in the final corner and even before turn 6.

Lying like this only makes things a lot worse and will create more abuse probably. There is no way to hide these days with the amount of coverage F1 has regarding these things. Come clean and people would respect it and let it go.

First half of that is bending over backwards to keep Max happy. Standard team PR mumbo-jumbo.

The second half is saddening to read. We all have a passion for F1 and motor racing but that doesn't mean people should be threatened on social media or elsewhere.

Hold on. Perez was told to let Verstappen through and if he was unable to pass Alonso he would be given the place back. Are Red Bull really claiming there wasn’t a similar message to Verstappen at the same time?

But it’s definitely dispicable that any member of RBR got hate or abuse from outside as a result…

Well the problem is that they have now commented with something the is provable false. Rather than shutting down the questions as intended, this is only going to open more ones about Verstappen and their statement which appears to cover up additional messages in attempt to excuse Verstappen.

The team can't help themselves! for me their problem lies with a petulant racing driver that thinks he is above his station.
Red bull as a team/brand should have had this under control a while ago.

They shouldn't have accepted an FIA helping hand to win the last race in 2021
And squirm their way out of a breached budget cap that everyone knows helped them also to both titles.

It screams cheat to many many people and a brand like red bull should be controlling this.

Horner looks like a silly child when he is asked about all these incidents etc etc, he should be stamping this out.
