Also, the times are slower than last year; the lack of downforce will be shown most here.

Looks like Webber was concentrating on long runs so to be 5/10ths off the fastest time of the session bodes well imho.

McLaren looks better than expected, BMW looks promising but still a little shaky. The times were too close in FP2. I have a feeling this is because of the evolving nature of the track along with differing programs. Ferrari looks pretty good. Personally I don't expect BMW or Renault to be very strong at this race. Red Bull does not seem quite as fast here. Red Bull must also be worried, as their infamous reliability issues have re-appeared again. Vettel had a horrible time in both sessions. FP1 they worked on Vettel's rear brakes. FP2 he had a vibration, and it turned out it was the engine so literally no running for him in FP2.

I think Brawn will be very strong as usual, likely with Ferrari, Red Bull somewhere in there and I also expect Toyota to be up there. Toyota in FP1 right away was fast, it seems they have less grip issues than some of the other teams. Toyota's upgrades seem to have given them a good step forward, combined with the fact this track suits Toyota much more than Monaco.

Williams looks pretty good too, but you can never rely on their FP2 pace. They will probably disappoint come qualifying and race-time.

After Toyota was being very coy right before Instanbul, Trulli has let the cat out of the bag a bit, so to speak. Some interesting comments coming from him.

Trulli says that Toyota has brought major new components to this race (many of which have already been spotted in pictures) and that they expect a big leap forward in terms of relative performance this weekend.

He also mentions they suffered in Barcelona because the updates they brought there did not work properly.

you've misunderstood. it's not a ranking or pecking order of any kind. he just abbreviated the post of what updates each team would be bringing to Turkey. its a list in random order.
